NETEC Releases Procedural Guide for Special Pathogens
The National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center (NETEC) recently released the EMS Model Procedural Guidelines for Special Pathogens.
The Guidelines are meant to be used with the EMS Infectious Disease Playbook produced by the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, and are intended to provide instructions for managing High Consequence Infectious Disease patients (HCID).
The Guidelines can help agencies develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) attending to patients with HCIDs.
They are another downloadable resource in the effort to keep first responders safe.
